School-Based Accommodations & Concessions

School-based accommodations and examination concessions are designed to support learners who experience cognitive, learning, attentional, or psychological difficulties that impact academic performance. These recommendations are based on comprehensive neuropsychological assessment findings and aim to ensure fair access to education while reflecting the learner’s true abilities.

Who May Benefit?

An assessment for school-based accommodations may be helpful for learners who experience:

  • Difficulties with attention, concentration, or focus during class or exams
  • Challenges with reading speed, comprehension, or written expression
  • Slowed processing speed that impacts exam completion time
  • Learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia
  • Significant anxiety that affects academic performance
  • Inconsistent academic results despite adequate ability or effort
  • Difficulty managing time during tests and examinations
  • Working memory or executive functioning challenges
  • Teacher or parent concerns regarding exam performance under timed conditions

Important Considerations

Recommendations for accommodations are based on objective assessment data and functional impact in academic settings. The aim is not to provide advantage, but to ensure equitable access by reducing the impact of cognitive or psychological barriers on performance.

Following the Assessment

Feedback is provided clearly and includes:

  • A detailed explanation of the learner’s cognitive and academic profile
  • Identification of barriers impacting learning and assessment performance
  • Formal recommendations for school or examination accommodations
  • Guidance for implementation within the school system
  • Strategies to support learning and classroom functioning

If you believe your child or student may benefit from school-based accommodations or examination concessions, please contact us to discuss a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment.
