Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@aryaneuropsych.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A neuropsychological assessment typically requires 3 consultations:

  • History-taking: Your current symptoms and background history are discussed in detail.
  • Assessment: Standardised pen-and-paper tests are administered to evaluate areas such as attention, memory, and problem-solving, among others. This provides a comprehensive understanding of your cognitive functioning and the severity of any difficulties.
  • Feedback: The findings of the neuropsychological assessment are discussed in detail, including diagnostic impressions and recommendations for management and support.

Medical aid benefits vary depending on your scheme and individual plan. In some cases, the cost of the assessment may be covered through available savings, day-to-day benefits, or an approved Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB), where applicable.

We are happy to guide you through the process and discuss your funding options. If your medical aid authorises cover for the assessment, we submit the claim directly to your medical aid on your behalf, making the process as simple and convenient as possible.

If available, please bring any relevant medical reports, previous psychological or educational assessments, school reports, neuroimaging reports, and a list of current medications. For children, any teacher reports or completed questionnaires should also be brought to the appointment.

A referral is not always required, and individuals may contact the practice directly to arrange an appointment. However, referrals from general practitioners, specialists, psychologists, schools, or other healthcare professionals are also welcome.
